Car repair loans in Florida
A car repair is the expense most likely to be genuinely urgent, because in most of Florida losing the car means losing the commute. A StrideFi loan is unsecured, so the vehicle is not collateral and no title is required.
Unsecured means the car is not on the line
A title loan is secured by the vehicle, which is why a default can end with the car repossessed. This loan is not: it is an unsecured installment loan, the title stays with you, and the repair shop has no involvement beyond being paid.
Repayment is a fixed monthly installment, disclosed in full before you sign. Interest accrues daily on the unpaid balance and there is no prepayment penalty, so a repair loan paid off in four months costs roughly a third of the same loan carried for twelve.
Repair, or replace?
Get the written estimate before deciding how much to borrow. A transmission or engine repair on an older vehicle can approach the car’s value, and financing a repair that exceeds what the car is worth is usually the wrong call — a down payment on a replacement may serve you better.
If the repair estimate is under $2,000, we are not your lender: that is below the minimum Florida Chapter 516 loan we write. A credit union, the shop’s own financing, or a payment plan will serve you better at that size.
What it costs
The same terms apply whatever the loan is for: 28.99%–35.99% APR depending on amount and underwriting, 12-month terms, no prepayment penalty.
| Loan amount | APR | Term | Monthly payment | Finance charge | Total of payments |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| $2,000 | 35.99% | 12 mo | $200.91 | $410.92 | $2,410.92 |
| $3,500 | 33.99% | 12 mo | $348.11 | $677.32 | $4,177.32 |
| $5,000 | 31.99% | 12 mo | $492.34 | $908.08 | $5,908.08 |
| $7,500 | 28.99% | 12 mo | $727.43 | $1,229.16 | $8,729.16 |
| $10,000 | 28.99% | 12 mo | $969.91 | $1,638.92 | $11,638.92 |
Representative examples only, not an offer of credit. Each row assumes a 12-month term, on-time payments, and the APR StrideFi currently quotes at that amount; your APR, term, and payment depend on underwriting. Interest accrues daily on the unpaid principal balance, so paying early reduces the finance charge below the figure shown, and paying late increases it. There is no prepayment penalty.

Frequently asked questions
- Do you need the vehicle title?
- No. This is an unsecured personal loan — no title, no lien, and no vehicle inspection. It is not a title loan.
- Do you pay the repair shop?
- No. Approved funds go by ACH to the bank account you linked during the application, and you pay the shop directly.
- How fast can I get the money?
- After approval and e-signing your loan documents, funds are sent by ACH, typically arriving within 1–2 business days depending on your bank. We cannot guarantee same-day funding, and any lender that does is describing something other than standard ACH.
