Florida personal loans with less-than-perfect credit

Two things up front, because the rest of this page is worthless without them. We do check credit — a consumer report is obtained on every application. And we cannot guarantee approval; nobody lawfully can.

What is different is the weight. We do not publish a minimum credit score, because the score is one input alongside bank-verified income and cash flow rather than a gate that decides the file on its own.

What cash-flow underwriting actually means

When you connect your bank account, underwriting can see modelled monthly income and the balance history in the account. Those are direct observations of whether a payment is affordable, which a score is not — a score is a summary of how you have handled credit in the past.

The affordability test is set against the monthly payment we would quote, not the amount you requested. Two consequences follow: a smaller request, or a longer term, produces a lower payment and a materially different assessment. And a thin credit file with steady verifiable deposits reads differently here than at a lender that stops at the score.

This is not a loophole. If the payment does not fit the income, the answer is no — and it should be, because the alternative is a loan you cannot afford.

Your rights if we decline

You receive a written adverse action notice stating the principal reasons for the decision. That is the Equal Credit Opportunity Act, and the reasons are the actual reasons — the notice names the specific test the application did not clear.

If we used information from a consumer reporting agency, the notice says so, identifies the agency, and tells you that you may obtain a free copy of that report from them and dispute anything inaccurate in it. Those are Fair Credit Reporting Act rights and they are worth exercising: an error on a report is common and correcting it changes future applications, not just ours.

A decline is specific to one application at one amount at one point in time. It is not a permanent judgement, and it is not a statement about you.

Phrases that should make you close the tab

  • "No credit check." A licensed lender reviews consumer-report data. An advertisement promising otherwise is describing either an unlicensed operation or something that is not a loan.
  • "Guaranteed approval." Approval depends on underwriting. There is no lawful product that approves everyone.
  • "Pre-approved" in an unsolicited message. A real firm offer of credit has specific rules attached to it. Most messages using that word are lead generation.
  • A fee before funding. We charge no application fee and no origination fee. Anyone requiring payment before disbursement is running an advance-fee scam.

Our licence number is in the footer of every page and verifiable in the Florida Office of Financial Regulation’s public licensee search. Check it — for us and for anyone else you are considering.

What is likely to help more than a loan

Pull your reports and read them. You are entitled to free copies, and errors are frequent. Disputing a wrong late payment or a debt that is not yours is free and affects every future application.

If you belong to a credit union — or can join one — ask about their small-dollar or credit-builder loan first. Federal credit unions are capped at 18% APR on most loans, which is well below what any Chapter 516 lender can offer, including us.

If the underlying problem is more debt than income supports, a loan does not solve it. A non-profit credit counselling agency accredited by the NFCC costs little or nothing and is the better first call.

Representative examples only, not an offer of credit. Each row assumes a 12-month term, on-time payments, and the APR StrideFi currently quotes at that amount; your APR, term, and payment depend on underwriting. Interest accrues daily on the unpaid principal balance, so paying early reduces the finance charge below the figure shown, and paying late increases it. There is no prepayment penalty.

Frequently asked questions

What is the minimum credit score for a StrideFi loan?
We do not publish one. Underwriting reviews bank-verified income and cash flow alongside credit-risk data from a consumer reporting agency, so no single score threshold decides an application.
Do you do a no-credit-check loan?
No. A consumer report is obtained on every application. If we decline, you are entitled to a written notice of the principal reasons and to a free copy of the report from the agency that furnished it.
Can I be approved with a recent late payment or a collection account?
It is possible — those are part of the credit-risk data reviewed, not automatic disqualifiers. We cannot tell you the outcome in advance, and any lender who does before seeing an application is not underwriting anything.
Will a decline stop me reapplying?
No. A decision applies to one application at one amount at one time. If your income or credit picture changes, or you request a smaller amount, a new application is assessed on its own facts.
Do you charge higher rates for weaker credit?
Our APR is tiered by loan amount within a published 28.99%–35.99% range, and the rate you are quoted is disclosed in your Truth-in-Lending statement before you sign anything.
